Devesh Pankaj Bhaiya, a 17-year-old multiple Olympiad gold medalist, has secured All India Rank 8 in the highly competitive JEE Advanced 2025, an achievement that reflects his unwavering determination and focused mindset.
A student at LH Patil English Medium School, Jalgaon, Devesh with a score of 319, now aspires to pursue Computer Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
His disciplined routine was the root of his success. Devesh's day began with an hour of cycling or yoga, followed by regular school classes, intensive coaching sessions, and dedicated hours of self-study. “It was the structure and balance in my schedule that kept me going,” Devesh tells Education Times.
Devesh’s journey was not without hurdles as he had to split time between Jalgaon and Kota. “I used to travel back and forth from Jalgaon to Kota for my coaching at Allen. When in Jalgaon, I attended school and took Allen’s online classes. When in Kota, I continued my school studies online,” he explains.
His mother accompanied him throughout the preparation journey, ensuring he stayed focused and motivated. “She was my constant guide and companion,” he adds.
Devesh's accomplishments extend far beyond JEE. He is a gold medalist in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) and has clinched multiple golds in the international Chemistry Olympiads. He was awarded the Pradhan Mantri Bal Shakti Puraskar in 2020 for his extraordinary academic achievements.
Family support played a vital role in his preparation process. His father, an architect, and his mother, a civil engineer, provided a strong foundation. “My family, friends, and teachers are extremely happy with my results,” Devesh says.
He also credits his elder sister as a constant source of inspiration. “Seeing her medals and trophies always motivated me. She has been an all-rounder and my role model since childhood,” he says.
Beyond academics, Devesh enjoys cycling and playing chess, balancing mental rigour with physical activities that help bust stress.
